Packaging instructions for a wholesale bag order need to identify more than the type of outer carton. A buyer may order several colors, sizes or styles for different sales channels. If unit packs, labels and carton contents are agreed only in scattered messages, it is easy to lose track of which version belongs where. A compact packaging brief connects each sellable SKU to its unit pack and outer-carton plan. This article offers a buyer-side checklist, not a claim about Guangshun's standard packaging, export documentation, price or shipment schedule.
The cover photograph shows the factory exterior. It is not an example of a packed carton or an approved packaging specification.
Start with a SKU-to-pack map
Give every bag variant a stable SKU or buyer reference. Separate style, size, color and branding version where those differences affect packing or labels. Record the intended quantity for each variant, then state whether the buyer wants one SKU per carton or a mixed assortment. Do not let a general instruction such as assorted colors stand in for an exact mix.
| Brief field | Buyer decision to record | Sample question |
|---|---|---|
| SKU reference | Style, size, color and branding version | Does the unit label match the actual bag? |
| Unit pack | Individual bag, fold and any insert or protective wrap | Can the bag be packed without obscuring required details? |
| Carton contents | Units of each SKU in one carton | Can the contents be checked against the carton mark? |
| Carton mark | Buyer reference, variant, quantity and other agreed data | Is the mark legible and placed as approved? |
| Destination or channel | Market and receiving requirements supplied by the buyer | Have channel-specific instructions been confirmed? |
The table is a communication tool, not a prescribed carton size or regulatory label. The buyer should provide any destination-market or retailer requirements and confirm them with the responsible parties.
Decide what belongs with each bag
A unit-pack brief should list every item that must accompany the bag: hangtag, care information, branding card, removable strap, accessory or other buyer-supplied component. State where each item should be placed and how it should be identified on the packing check. If the buyer wants the bag folded, provide the intended folded form or ask for a sample proposal. Review the actual packed appearance instead of assuming the bag will return to the same shape after unpacking.
Keep approved bag specifications and packaging instructions separate. Changing a label or fold should not silently approve a change to bag construction. If a packaging component is still undecided, mark it open rather than copying an old project's material or artwork by default.
Prepare label and carton-mark artwork as controlled files
For each label, supply the final text, artwork file, size or placement reference, and the SKU versions to which it applies. If a barcode or other identifier is needed, the buyer should provide the exact data and define who checks its readability and matching product. Do not invent a code from a product name.
Ask for an artwork proof or marked photograph before the pack-out is treated as approved. Review spelling, variant identity, placement and legibility together. When a label changes, assign a new revision and note which bags and cartons must use it. This matters particularly for mixed orders where one visual design may carry several distinct SKU labels.
Review a sample pack-out before final instructions
A small, representative pack-out can expose ambiguities in the brief. It is a fit and identification review, not a shipment test or a guarantee that all transport conditions have been assessed.
- Choose one representative SKU from each packaging pattern, including any mixed-carton arrangement.
- Pack each unit with the agreed tags, inserts and accessories; photograph the finished unit.
- Place the specified units in the proposed carton arrangement and record the actual contents.
- Compare every unit label and carton mark with the SKU-to-pack map.
- Note any folding, access, readability or count issue by SKU and packaging revision.
- Approve the corrected pack-out reference, or leave the unresolved item open for another check.
A buyer may need additional requirements for retail display, shipment handling or a particular market. Agree the relevant method and evidence separately rather than assuming a sample photograph establishes compliance.
Send one final packing brief for review
Combine the SKU list, quantities, unit-pack components, carton mix, label artwork, mark placement and revision status in one controlled document. Identify the receiving channel and destination market, and ask the factory to confirm feasibility and remaining questions for the specific order. Commercial terms and timing should be confirmed in that project discussion.
